The Tenant, a suspense noir by Bruce Allsman John Greene, after recently concluding the purchase of a house from Lucas who had rented out the place, pays a visit to the recalcitrant tenant to find out why the man seems reluctant to vacate the house. During the visit, when John's pet Border Collie, Rocky, uncovers a woman's partially decomposed body in the backyard, the tenant pulls a gun on John and orders him to call Lucas to come over immediately. Much to his surprise, Lucas acquiesces. At gunpoint, John listens to the tenant's story as well as Lucas's version of it, each accusing the other of murder. Who is the mystery woman? And who killed her?
